The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe), which is part of the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), has contracted Nobis Engineering, Inc. to provide environmental engineering services.

As part of the EPA Region 1 Brownfield’s Environmental Assessment and Redevelopment Program, Nobis conducted a Phase II Comprehensive Site Assessment on the 22-acre, former textile mill, which included multimedia sampling, advancement of test pits and soil borings, soil sampling, installation of monitoring wells, ground water sampling, ground penetrating radar survey, sampling of pond and stream sediments, review of background information, submittal of samples for laboratory analyses, and report preparation.
